| This project employed 20 porfessional artsworkers and involved over 150 women in technical, peformance, musical and support roles, many of whom were participating in a large-scale arts event for the first time. From the starting point ´women and secrets`, the secrets of the sexual abuse emerged as the central concern. The decision to speak out about the secret of the Women`s Circus - to provide a physical means of empowerment and healing for women who were survivors of sexual assault. The topic of sexual assault offered directed resonance for many of the performers. | |
