| Living alone is becoming increasingly common for women right across the life cycle - first because of later marriage, then becaus of divorce and separation, and finally because of widowhood. Thus, assumptions that women are financially supported by man do not apply to many women at various points in their lives. this article reports on a research study, dunded by the European Commmission, which examined the socio-economic situation of solo women in Europe. The main focus of the article is on methodology of the study. | |
