| Numerous paradigms in social cognition require behavior descriptions as stimulus material. To our knowledge, in the German speech community, there is no standardized material available. 165 positive and 165 parallel negative behavior descriptions were generated and presented to two, with respect to psychological experiments representative, samples of 60 male and 60 female students each. The items' valence and gender typicality were judged on a 7-point scale. The second sample was additionally administered a German version of the Bem Sex Role Inventory (Schneider-Düker & Kohler, 1988) in order to analyse influences of gender-related attitudes. The behavior descriptions cover a wide range of valence and gender typicality. Interrater reliability was satisfactorily high on both judgment dimensions. Sets with different characteristics can be drawn, so that the material can be used for diverse studies in the field. | |
