| This paper examines the representations of history and time in Julia Schoch’s narratives. The characters always attempt to live their own models of time in face of dominant tendencies in different societies where they stay in: they try to escape the “arrow of time” to the future in GDR society, to handle the disorientation after 1989, and they live the “broad present” of the 21st century like a loss of both future and past. | |
