| The chapter explores the interrelatedness of creative work and family life of home-based workers and their family members in the Austrian creative industries. By drawing on extensive fieldwork with Family C, consisting of ‘mumpreuneur’ Catherine, her husband, and their two daughters, the author interrogates how family, creative online business, and domestic domain are interlinked in everyday life. Catherine’s story as a home-based digital content creator and mother shows how the mutual overlaps of creative business and family life require often inventive coordination of those domains and lead to various ways of ‘doing family’ while doing work. The perspective on the every day underlines the constant and diverse interactions that contribute to the production of creative content and the role of creativity in everyday family life. | |
